Pepperfry, a prominent e-commerce platform for furniture and home decor, has appointed Madhusudan Bihani as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This strategic move is part of the company’s plan to enhance its leadership team as it prepares for its next phase of growth. By appointing Bihani, Pepperfry aims to leverage his extensive experience and leadership to strengthen its financial foundation and accelerate its growth trajectory.
Madhusudan Bihani, a Chartered Accountant by profession, began his journey with Pepperfry in 2019 when he took on the role of Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance. Over the course of his tenure, Bihani’s contributions were pivotal in driving the company’s financial growth and operational improvements. His exceptional leadership and strategic foresight led to his promotion to Vice President (VP) of Finance in 2021. During this time, Bihani played an instrumental role in enhancing profitability, refining financial processes, and establishing a strong compliance framework for Pepperfry. His efforts were crucial in streamlining financial operations and supporting the company’s broader strategic initiatives.
Before joining Pepperfry, Bihani spent a decade with Kraft Heinz, a global leader in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. There, he demonstrated his capability in driving financial efficiencies, optimizing business operations, and ensuring strict compliance with business standards. This experience gave him a strong foundation in corporate finance and strategy, skills that he has brought to Pepperfry in his roles.
In his new role as CFO, Bihani will have a broader scope of responsibilities, overseeing corporate strategy, financial planning, fundraising, and legal and corporate affairs. His promotion is a clear indication of Pepperfry’s commitment to strengthening its financial and operational strategy as it prepares for the future. Ashish Shah, Co-founder and CEO of Pepperfry, expressed confidence in Bihani’s ability to lead the company through its next growth phase. “Madhusudan’s extensive experience and leadership will be critical in executing our future vision,” Shah said. “His efforts have been instrumental in strengthening our financial foundation and helping us meet our long-term goals.”
Bihani, in turn, expressed excitement about his new role. “I am excited about this new opportunity and look forward to contributing towards Pepperfry’s growth story,” he said. “The company’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence aligns perfectly with my professional ethos. I am optimistic that working closely with Ashish and the leadership team will help strengthen Pepperfry’s financial health, operational strategies, and market leadership.”
With Bihani taking the helm as CFO, Pepperfry is poised to accelerate its financial operations and expand its market presence. His leadership is expected to play a key role in solidifying the company’s position as a leader in India’s rapidly growing online furniture and home decor market. As the company looks to capitalize on new opportunities in the evolving digital landscape, Bihani’s strategic direction will be pivotal in maintaining Pepperfry’s competitive edge and achieving continued success.
