BQP Raises $4.9M Seed Round to Scale Quantum-Accelerated Simulation Platform

Bengaluru-based quantum computing startup BQP has successfully raised $4.9 million in an oversubscribed seed round, boosting its total funding to $6.6 million. The round was led by Monta Vista Capital, with strong participation from New York Ventures, Arc Ventures, Armory Square Ventures, Emergent Ventures, and existing investors such as Paradigm Shift Capital and the Griffiss Institute. The newly secured capital will be used to expand BQPhy, BQP’s flagship platform that offers high-speed quantum-accelerated simulations tailored for mission-critical industries like aerospace, defence, and semiconductors.

BQPhy is designed to run on hybrid computing environments, combining CPUs, GPUs, and quantum processors to deliver breakthrough performance in physics-based simulations. According to the company, the platform currently offers 10x speed improvements using quantum-inspired solvers and is being developed to reach up to 1000x acceleration on future quantum-native hardware. This advancement is expected to dramatically reduce design iteration cycles for customers in high-compute sectors.

The funding milestone comes shortly after BQP signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory’s Aerospace Systems Directorate, focused on quantum-accelerated digital twin simulations. Commenting on the momentum, Abhishek Chopra, Founder and CEO of BQP, said: “The traction we’re experiencing from AFRL/RQ and industry-leading design partners validates the immediate impact and substantial ROI our platform delivers today.”

Roger Krakoff of Monta Vista Capital highlighted the startup’s potential in the growing $22 billion simulation market, stating that BQP’s technology addresses long-standing bottlenecks in simulation speed and scale. In addition to AFRL, BQP is collaborating with key partners including India’s Ministry of Heavy Industries, ABB, and a tier-1 aerospace manufacturer. On the quantum side, it has formed alliances with Intel, IBM, Classiq, and Strangeworks to deepen its hardware and software capabilities.

BQP is set to showcase its progress and breakthroughs at major global events such as AIAA Aviation in Las Vegas and ASME Fluids Engineering later this month, as it continues to position itself at the forefront of quantum-enabled enterprise innovation.
