NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has confirmed an investment in ElevenLabs, the fast-growing AI voice technology startup co-founded by Mati Staniszewski. Sharing the news on X, Staniszewski wrote, “We’re excited to share that NVIDIA is investing in ElevenLabs, with support from Jensen Huang.” He noted that the U.S. and U.K.’s closer ties in AI innovation provided the ideal backdrop for this partnership milestone.
As part of the announcement, ElevenLabs released a video featuring Huang, who praised the company’s cutting-edge role in AI-powered audio. “Whenever my voice is delivered digitally using artificial intelligence, it’s the ElevenLabs platform that I’m using,” he said. Drawing a clear distinction between different types of voice technology, Huang remarked, “Speech-to-text is just technology. Text-to-speech is artistry.”
Huang emphasized that what sets ElevenLabs apart is its ability to imbue audio with human-like emotion and connection. “With the delivery of the emotion, you’re also delivering empathy… you’re delivering connection,” he added, underscoring the transformative potential of voice in human-computer interaction.
The video also highlighted that NVIDIA has been a partner to ElevenLabs since its early days, helping to bring its research to a global stage. Both companies share a vision that AI-driven voice technology can redefine how people engage with digital platforms by blending technical precision with expressive, lifelike audio.
This move builds on NVIDIA’s broader U.K. strategy, which includes a £2 billion commitment to AI startups and plans to invest up to £11 billion in AI factories. By supporting ElevenLabs, NVIDIA is further strengthening its footprint in Europe’s growing AI ecosystem while betting on voice as a major frontier in artificial intelligence.
Founded in 2022 by former Google and Palantir engineers Piotr Dąbkowski and Mati Staniszewski, ElevenLabs has quickly become a leader in AI voice synthesis. The company recently achieved a valuation of $6.6 billion, reflecting its rapid rise and strong demand for its platform across media, gaming, and enterprise applications.
NVIDIA’s latest investment signals not only confidence in ElevenLabs’ growth but also the strategic importance of voice AI in shaping the next generation of human-AI interaction.
