ServiceNow has officially launched ServiceNow University in India, a landmark initiative aimed at skilling one million learners in AI by 2027. The announcement was made at the company’s first AI Skills Summit in Hyderabad, which saw participation from 1,200 students in person and over 20,000 virtually. India, recognized as one of ServiceNow’s fastest-growing markets, now occupies a central role in the company’s global mission to train three million individuals in AI.
“Organisations are adopting AI at record speed, but there simply aren’t enough skilled professionals to power this transformation. That uncertainty is exactly what ServiceNow University is designed to address,” said Sumeet Mathur, Senior Vice President and MD of ServiceNow India Technology and Business Centre.
ServiceNow University offers free, gamified, and AI-personalized learning experiences, featuring bite-sized courses, digital credentials, and career pathways tailored to India’s workforce. Key focus areas include software development, data engineering, and security operations, providing learners with practical, industry-relevant skills. The platform also collaborates with universities, government skill programs, and regulatory bodies such as AICTE to expand access and ensure alignment with national skill-building initiatives.
“AI is changing the landscape of work, and organisations need talent equipped not just in coding, but in business, technology, and commercial skills,” noted Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, MD and GVP of ServiceNow India and SAARC. He emphasized that skilling one million learners in India by 2027 is a critical milestone in ServiceNow’s broader global target of reaching three million AI-trained professionals.
The initiative reflects ServiceNow’s proactive approach to addressing the growing AI skills gap, particularly as enterprises across industries accelerate AI adoption. By combining cutting-edge learning technology, personalized pathways, and strategic partnerships, ServiceNow University aims to empower Indian learners to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
With ServiceNow University, the company is positioning India as a hub for AI talent development, bridging the gap between emerging technology opportunities and a skilled workforce, while contributing to the global AI talent ecosystem.
