Chevron India has marked a year of operations at its cutting-edge Engineering and Innovation Excellence Center (ENGINE) in Bengaluru, reinforcing its commitment to leveraging India’s talent for global energy solutions. Located in the Bellandur tech corridor, the 312,000-square-foot LEED-certified facility is designed to foster collaboration and support Chevron’s worldwide projects through an AI-first workforce.
Akshay Sahni, Country Head at Chevron India, emphasised the center’s strategic impact, stating, “Chevron ENGINE is more than a workplace. It brings together India’s talent and Chevron’s global resources to meet today’s energy challenges and build tomorrow’s lower carbon energy system.” The center integrates AI-powered technologies, robotics, holographic experience centers, and digital twins, enabling Chevron to enhance operational efficiency, drive innovation, and tackle complex energy challenges.
Since its launch in August 2024, Chevron ENGINE has attracted over 1,000 professionals, highlighting India’s deep engineering, digital, and AI capabilities. The facility functions as a strategic technology hub, co-locating domain experts with digital innovation teams to deliver high-impact solutions across Chevron’s global operations.
Focusing on AI and advanced digital solutions, Chevron ENGINE supports critical business areas such as subsurface modeling, complex processing facility performance monitoring, and predictive maintenance. By combining human expertise with AI-driven tools, the center enables Chevron to optimize operational workflows, improve safety standards, and reduce carbon intensity across its projects.
The establishment of ENGINE underscores Chevron’s commitment to scalable, efficient, and cleaner energy solutions powered by India’s workforce. It also reflects the company’s vision to position India as a key contributor to global energy innovation, combining technological excellence with sustainability goals.
As Chevron continues to expand its digital and engineering footprint, ENGINE serves as a model for AI-integrated operations, demonstrating how collaborative innovation hubs can accelerate transformation in the energy sector while nurturing local talent for global impact.
