Koreel Lahiri has taken on the role of Chief of Strategy & Innovation at NDTV, bringing with him 25 years of deep expertise across corporate strategy, financial markets, venture investments, and media leadership. Having led financial news products, steered over $250M+ in investments, and shaped the growth trajectories of emerging media, tech, and consumer businesses across Asia, Koreel’s career spans the intersection of content, commerce, and capital. His experience across newsroom leadership, corporate strategy, and investment management uniquely positions him to drive NDTV’s next phase of digital expansion and audience relevance—especially among Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
In this newly assumed role, Lahiri is expected to strengthen NDTV’s long-term strategic roadmap while accelerating its shift toward a more digitally adaptive, youth-focused media ecosystem. His mandate will likely revolve around sharpening the company’s innovation agenda, scaling high-trust news products, and expanding NDTV’s footprint across emerging digital markets and content formats. With younger audiences increasingly consuming news through short-form video, interactive storytelling, and niche content communities, Lahiri’s blend of editorial and investment experience gives NDTV a strategic edge in navigating this evolving landscape.
Before joining NDTV, Koreel served as Investment Director – Asia at Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF), where he managed the Asia portfolio (AUM ~$40M), led investments across India, Southeast Asia, and LatAm, and conceptualized new micro-funds focused on digital and content-tech businesses. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in supporting mission-driven, independent media ventures in growth markets, enabling them to scale sustainably while strengthening their business models.
Lahiri has also held board positions with several rapidly expanding platforms including Josh Talks, Arré, Asiaville, Gram Vaani, KATADATAcoid, and Hukumonline.com. His contributions to these organizations spanned revenue strategy, product diversification, digital distribution, and audience development—areas that align closely with the transformation priorities currently unfolding within NDTV.
Backed by a professional record of accelerating revenues, incubating new digital offerings, and guiding founders through critical growth cycles, Koreel joins NDTV at a moment when the media industry is undergoing accelerated disruption. His focus on innovation, regional expansion, and trust-centric journalism is expected to support NDTV’s vision of building resilient, future-ready news experiences for the next billion users.
