BankU India Limited has appointed Ambalika Roy as its new Director & Chief Business Officer, adding a seasoned leader with over 15 years of expertise in payments, banking partnerships, and fintech integrations. Her arrival strengthens the company’s leadership bench at a time when it is rapidly expanding its role in digital and financial inclusion across the country. Ambalika previously held key positions at Razorpay—where she was a founding member of the Banking Alliances & Partnerships team—and at PayU, where she spent more than a decade establishing and scaling partnerships with PSU, private, cooperative, and international banks.
In her new role, Ambalika will lead nationwide banking alliances, partnerships with NBFCs and insurance firms, and collaborations tied to government-driven financial programmes. She will also oversee the growth of BankU India’s extensive product and partnership ecosystem, which includes more than 200 APIs, the BankU Seva Kendra network, and a wide range of digital financial services encompassing payments, AEPS, lending, BBPS, remittance, and verification solutions.
With strong industry relationships across RBI-regulated institutions and digital finance stakeholders, her appointment aligns with the company’s ambition to build a resilient, scalable and innovation-driven fintech infrastructure. “Her leadership is set to strengthen BankU India’s long-term vision of building a trusted, scalable, and innovation-led national fintech infrastructure,” the company stated.
