
Ciena has elevated Akshat Mohindra to the position of Leader, Software & Services – APJI, where he will oversee the expansion of the company’s software-led solutions and service-centric strategy across India, Japan, and Korea. His new mandate places him at the forefront of accelerating Ciena’s network transformation momentum in key Asian markets—an area of growing strategic importance as service providers and enterprises continue shifting toward cloud-driven and automation-centric infrastructure.
Mohindra has been a pivotal contributor since joining Ciena in 2025 as Account Leader. During this period, he successfully strengthened the company’s relationships within enterprise and public-sector domains by championing outcome-based engagements and guiding multi-layered deal strategies focused on measurable value creation. His performance has reinforced Ciena’s competitive position in markets demanding high-capacity, resilient, software-defined networking capabilities.
Prior to Ciena, Mohindra established a strong leadership track record across globally recognized technology organizations. His professional journey includes impactful roles at Salesforce, Cisco, Aujas Cybersecurity, Comviva, and Wipro, where he worked at the intersection of business transformation, cybersecurity, telecom innovation, and cloud modernization. At Salesforce, he steered initiatives around compliance-driven digital transformation for large enterprises, while his eight-year tenure at Cisco saw him driving adoption of next-gen technologies and strengthening partner ecosystems to fuel scalable growth.
With deep expertise spanning cloud solutions, enterprise networking, cybersecurity modernization, and strategic IT transformation, Mohindra’s transition into this regional leadership role demonstrates Ciena’s commitment to expanding its portfolio beyond connectivity hardware into advanced software intelligence and managed services. His focus will center on elevating customer experience, enabling automation-first networks, and scaling operational efficiencies for telecom carriers, digital service providers, and large global enterprises across APJI.
