Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Launches DeepTech Defence Facility, Unveils Six Indigenous UAV and Autonomous Systems

The Hyderabad-based Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group on Monday announced the launch of a new DeepTech design, production, and integration facility in the city and unveiled six indigenous UAV and autonomous defence products, marking a major expansion of its manufacturing and technology capabilities in India’s fast-growing defence and aerospace sector.

With an investment of over Rs 100 crore in advanced manufacturing and technology development at its Citadel Campus in Hardware Park, near Hyderabad International Airport, the newly launched 25,000 sq ft facility is designed to support end-to-end operations, from design and engineering to assembly and integration. The campus will house manufacturing for UAV platforms, propulsion systems, and advanced defence solutions aimed at both domestic and global markets. “This new facility strengthens the group’s ability to support Indian strategic programmes and global customers with faster turnaround times and scalable production,” the company said in a release.

Alongside the facility launch, the group introduced six new indigenous defence products spanning aerial and ground-based autonomous systems. These include jet-powered loitering munitions, decoy drones, target drones, tethered surveillance drones, air-based missile launchers, micro turbojet engines, long-endurance kamikaze UAVs, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), autonomous ground combat systems, and robotic aircraft maintenance solutions. The portfolio is designed to address a wide range of operational requirements, including surveillance, deep-strike missions, battlefield logistics, and mission support.

According to the company, the newly unveiled platforms are capable of ranges exceeding 300 km and speeds of up to 650 kmph, positioning them among the more advanced indigenous systems currently under development in the country.

As part of its expansion strategy, Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group also announced the signing of four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with key national institutions, including the Indian Army, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), IIIT Hyderabad, and the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI). These collaborations are expected to support co-development, testing, and deployment of next-generation defence technologies.

Commenting on the expansion, Vamsi Vikas, Founder and Managing Director of the Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group, said: “We are developing systems that are globally benchmarked and engineered for the next era of warfare, utilising homegrown talent.”

The expansion underscores the group’s focus on strengthening indigenous defence manufacturing while contributing to India’s broader strategic and self-reliance objectives in aerospace and autonomous systems.
