
Citi India has appointed Shweta Ramchandani as Vice President and Head – External Communications, marking a strategic addition to the bank’s leadership team as it sharpens its focus on trust, transparency, and brand visibility in the financial services sector. In her new role, Ramchandani will lead Citi India’s external communications agenda, overseeing media relations, thought leadership, and strategic storytelling. She will work to amplify Citi’s global expertise while aligning communications with local market realities to strengthen engagement with key stakeholders across India.

Prior to joining Citi India, she held senior leadership roles at Nomura, Cisco (Channel Impact), WTW, Sutherland, Crisil, and Adfactors PR. Across these organizations, she built strong expertise in the BFSI and corporate sectors, working closely with leadership teams to manage complex communications environments and drive impactful brand narratives.
Over the course of her career, Ramchandani has led external and internal communications programs, crisis and issues management initiatives, brand-building efforts, and high-stakes strategic messaging. Her work has spanned both in-house and agency environments, giving her a well-rounded perspective on stakeholder expectations, media dynamics, and reputation risk. This blend of experience positions her well to guide communications for a global financial institution operating in a dynamic and closely regulated market.
Her academic background includes studies at Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Banaras Hindu University, providing a strong foundation to complement her professional journey.
