
Citi India has appointed Neha Maltare as Vice President, further strengthening its leadership bench in risk and control functions. Citi India is widely recognized for delivering innovative financial solutions while maintaining a strong focus on regulatory excellence, risk management and operational efficiency across its corporate and consumer banking operations.
In her new role as Vice President, based in Pune, Neha will oversee Risk and Controls with a focus on Control Design Assessment and Monitoring and Testing of Controls. Her appointment comes at a time when financial institutions are placing increasing emphasis on governance, compliance and resilient operational frameworks to ensure secure, reliable and scalable services in India and global markets.
Neha has built a steady and progressive career across leading global financial institutions. Prior to taking on the Vice President position in February 2026, she served as Associate Vice President at Citi from July 2023 to February 2026 in Pune, where she worked extensively across regulatory compliance, risk management and related control functions.
Before rejoining Citi in a leadership capacity, Neha was associated with DWS Group as Operations Lead from August 2019 to July 2023 in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad area. In this role, she managed project delivery and project management initiatives, driving structured execution and operational oversight across teams. Her responsibilities included ensuring process discipline, strengthening governance standards and maintaining accuracy across operational workflows.
Earlier in her career, she worked with Invesco US as a Fund Accountant from February 2018 to November 2018 in Houston, Texas, where she handled fund valuation and NAV calculation responsibilities. She also spent nearly four years at Deutsche Bank, including a tenure as Project Management Specialist from March 2016 to July 2017 in Pune. During this period, she was involved in programme management, project planning, governance frameworks and managing both financial and non-financial deliverables.
Across these roles at Citi, DWS Group, Invesco and Deutsche Bank, Neha has developed deep expertise in risk management, regulatory compliance, project delivery, fund accounting and process governance. Her experience spans financial operations, control testing and cross-functional team leadership, with a consistent focus on improving operational accuracy and driving efficiency across both global and domestic teams.
Academically, Neha holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya and an MBA in Finance and Financial Management Services from Maharshi Arvind College of Engineering & Research Center, Jaipur. Over the years, she has led complex project transitions, implemented structured governance frameworks and mentored high-performing teams within multinational banking environments.
With her elevation to Vice President at Citi India, Neha Maltare brings strategic clarity, risk expertise and operational foresight to the organisation. Her appointment underscores Citi’s continued commitment to strengthening controls, enhancing regulatory compliance and delivering sustainable business impact in an evolving financial landscape.
