
Tim Hortons has appointed Vinay Kumar as Head of IT, bringing on board a seasoned technology leader with more than two decades of experience across diverse industries. With a strong background in enterprise IT leadership and digital transformation, Vinay is set to steer the brand’s technology roadmap across the Middle East market.
Certified in Digital Transformation from IIM Ahmedabad, Vinay has led enterprise-wide IT functions spanning ERP implementation, infrastructure modernization, IT governance, vendor management and large-scale digital transformation programs. Over the years, he has built a reputation for aligning technology initiatives closely with business strategy to enable scalability, operational efficiency and measurable outcomes.
Prior to joining Tim Hortons – Middle East, Vinay served as Chief Information Officer at McDonald’s India – North and East, where he was responsible for leading the entire technology function. His role covered applications, infrastructure, security, eCommerce platforms and support operations. He drove the IT vision and roadmap while ensuring operational resilience and business-aligned transformation initiatives across the region.
In parallel, he has also been associated with MMG as Chief Information Officer since November 2017 in the Greater Delhi Area, overseeing technology across multiple business verticals. These included Food and Beverages operations such as McDonald’s Delhi and Coca-Cola FBO, as well as oil and gas businesses including Hal Offshore Ltd and Seamec Ltd.
Earlier in his career, Vinay served as CIO / IT Head at PepsiCo – FOBO (Nectar Beverages Pvt. Limited) from March 2016 to October 2017 in New Delhi. In that role, he led the overall technology and digital strategy across beverage business operations, ensuring robust IT systems, reliable data platforms and digitally enabled processes to support growth. Before that, he was IT Head – India at Flaktwoods from September 2011 to February 2016, managing national IT operations and supporting business expansion through structured technology frameworks.
His career also includes leadership exposure across FMCG, QSR, retail, manufacturing and logistics environments, equipping him with a broad understanding of operational complexities and supply chain systems. Across these assignments, he has consistently focused on ERP deployments, infrastructure upgrades, governance standards and cost optimization initiatives that drive tangible business value.
With his appointment as Head of IT at Tim Hortons – Middle East, Vinay Kumar brings deep cross-industry expertise, strategic foresight and a strong track record of delivering technology-led transformation. His leadership is expected to further strengthen the brand’s digital capabilities and operational backbone as it continues to expand in the region.
