DBS Bank has appointed Gaurav Rajput as Managing Director and Head of Group Marketing & Communications for India. In this role, he will oversee the bank’s integrated marketing and communications strategy in one of its most important growth markets.
Rajput brings more than two decades of experience across the banking, financial services and media sectors. Before joining DBS, he served as Chief Marketing Officer at Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. (BCCL), where he was responsible for shaping marketing initiatives across the company’s extensive portfolio. During his time there, he worked on strengthening brand positioning, expanding digital engagement and supporting strategic transformation efforts.
Earlier, Rajput held the position of Managing Director and Global Head of Corporate & Investment Bank Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank. In that capacity, he led marketing programs across several international markets and was also part of the India and South Asia Country Management Team. His responsibilities included developing brand-led campaigns, driving digital and social media strategies, overseeing CSR communications and managing stakeholder engagement across industry platforms.
Rajput was also among the founding executive members at IDFC Bank, where he played a key role in establishing the bank’s marketing and communications structure from the ground up and helping institutionalise its strategic framework.
In the earlier phase of his career, he held senior leadership roles at Cigna TTK, contributing to multiple areas including corporate strategy, product development, regulatory affairs and marketing.
At DBS Bank, Rajput will focus on advancing the bank’s brand strategy, strengthening corporate communications and enhancing stakeholder outreach. His mandate will also include aligning marketing initiatives with the bank’s digital-first growth strategy in India.
