
Equirus Asset Management, part of the Equirus Group, has announced the appointment of Dilip Kumar RV as an Independent Director on its Board. The move comes as the firm continues to expand its portfolio management and alternative investment platforms while strengthening governance and strategic oversight across the business.
Dilip Kumar RV brings more than two decades of experience across venture capital, financial services and impact investing. Over the years, he has been closely associated with the development of India’s venture capital ecosystem and has supported numerous portfolio companies in their growth journeys. His experience spans institutional fund management, governance frameworks and long-term capital deployment across emerging sectors.
He has been associated with SIDBI Ventures since its inception in 1999, initially joining the founding team on deputation from Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). During this early phase, he played an important role in establishing the venture capital arm and contributing to its growth. He has also served as a nominee director on the boards of several portfolio companies representing funds managed by SIDBI Ventures.
In 2007, Dilip Kumar RV joined SIDBI Ventures full-time as Vice President and later held multiple senior leadership roles at the organisation. These included positions such as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, which was a key managerial role, and eventually Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure, he played a significant role in shaping the firm’s investment strategy, governance practices and portfolio development across multiple sectors.
Over the course of his career, he has built a reputation as a seasoned institutional leader with deep expertise in fund management, portfolio building, governance and strategic advisory. His work has consistently focused on creating long-term value through disciplined investing, strong institutional processes, adherence to ESG principles and responsible stewardship.
