Kancheepuram | 2026: Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), today reinforced its commitment to quality education with an investment of ₹5.22 crore towards the development of the Hyundai Center for Education Excellence at Government Higher Secondary School, Thandalam, in Kancheepuram district.
The new academic block was inaugurated by Thiru. T.M. Anbarasan, Honourable Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MS&ME), Government of Tamil Nadu, and formally handed over to the School Management Committee and Thandalam Village Panchayat in the presence of Mr. Gopalakrishnan C.S. and Mr. Saravanan T., Trustees – HMIF, Mr. K. Selvaperunthagai, Member of Legislative Assembly, Sriperumbudur, Dr. A. Nalini, Chief Educational Officer, Kancheepuram, Mr T.E.Sasikumar, President, Thandalam Panchayat, Mr.Chandrasekar, Headmaster – Government Higher Secondary School, Thandalam, along with other dignitaries and school representatives.
Spread across 15,750 sq. ft., the centre houses 16 well designed classrooms and two fully equipped science laboratories aimed at enhancing experiential learning. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to significantly improve classroom engagement, enable practical science education, and provide a safe and dignified learning environment for students.
Nearly 1,000 students annually will benefit from enhanced access to quality learning spaces designed to nurture curiosity, scientific temper, and aspiration for higher education.
