Swiss Re has appointed Kolli Kiran Kumar as Vice President – Gen AI Lead, as the global reinsurance company continues to strengthen its capabilities in artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.
In his new role, Kumar will lead generative AI initiatives and contribute to advancing the company’s data-driven innovation and technology capabilities across its operations.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Kumar worked as an AI/ML Scientist at Saarthee and earlier spent nearly four years at ZS, where he held positions including Data Science Consultant and Data Science Associate Consultant. During his tenure, he worked on developing generative AI-powered tools, advanced machine learning solutions and large-scale analytics systems designed to improve operational efficiency and deliver actionable insights for clients.
He began his professional career as a Software Engineer at UnitedHealth Group and also gained early analytical experience as a Data Science Consultant Intern at The D. E. Shaw Group.
Kumar holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. His academic background in advanced analytics, combined with his experience in artificial intelligence, statistical modelling and large-scale data science applications, positions him to contribute to the integration of next-generation AI solutions within the insurance sector.
With this appointment, Swiss Re aims to further strengthen its innovation capabilities and expand the use of generative AI and advanced analytics to support smarter risk management and decision-making across the global insurance ecosystem.
