Skye Air Mobility has raised $9 million in a Series B funding round to expand its hyperlocal drone delivery network across India.
The round, structured in two parts — Series B1 of $4 million and Series B2 of $5 million — was led by IAN Alpha Fund, with participation from AVNM Ventures, Faad Capital, Bajaj Capital and other investors.
With the fresh capital, the company plans to expand its drone delivery operations beyond the Delhi-NCR region into major cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata, as demand for drone-powered logistics continues to grow rapidly across the country.
Founded by Ankit Kumar, Skye Air Mobility combines autonomous drones, intelligent airspace management and ground-based delivery infrastructure to enable scalable and sustainable last-mile logistics.
Over the past two years, the startup has completed more than 3.6 million autonomous deliveries while eliminating over 1,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. The company’s drones are designed to carry payloads of up to 10 kilograms, enabling applications ranging from e-commerce and pharmaceutical deliveries to industrial supply chains.
A key differentiator in Skye Air’s approach is its network-driven delivery architecture, which integrates aerial drones with ground logistics through a hub–pod–walker system designed specifically for urban environments in India.
According to the company, the Indian drone market is experiencing rapid growth. Valued at $940.6 million in 2024, it is projected to reach $3.23 billion by 2030, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.51 percent.
