Gunaseelan Rajendran has been appointed as Group Executive Vice President – Systems Audit at YES BANK. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing systems audit functions, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing the bank’s technology risk and audit frameworks.
Prior to joining YES BANK, Rajendran had a brief stint at Bank of Maharashtra, where he served as Assistant General Manager – IS Audit from July 2025 to March 2026. During this period, he was involved in managing information systems audit processes and supporting the bank’s compliance and risk management initiatives.
Before that, he spent over 13 years at IDBI Bank, holding multiple roles across audit and business functions. He served as Assistant General Manager – IS Audit from November 2015 to August 2025, where he played a key role in strengthening IT audit practices and ensuring robust governance mechanisms. Earlier, he worked as a Relationship Manager between July 2012 and October 2015 in the Greater Chennai area, gaining valuable exposure to customer relationship management and banking operations.
Rajendran began his professional journey in the technology sector with HCLTech (formerly HCL Technologies), where he worked as a Software Engineer from August 2007 to June 2010. This early experience helped him build a strong foundation in technology systems, which he later leveraged in his transition to information systems audit roles within the banking industry.
With nearly two decades of experience spanning IT, banking operations, and audit leadership, Rajendran brings a comprehensive understanding of systems audit and risk management. His appointment underscores YES BANK’s continued focus on strengthening its audit capabilities and reinforcing governance in an increasingly technology-driven financial environment.
