
Data Security Council of India (DSCI), has appointed Neelam Dhawan as its new
Chairperson effective April 1, 2026. Neelam joined the DSCI board in December 2025 and now will serve as the Chairperson of the board. She is succeeding Promod Bhasin, Chairman, ICRIER and Founder, Genpact Ltd & Chairman, Clix Capital, who served as DSCI Chairman for three years from April 2023 to March 2026.
Neelam currently serves on the Board of Directors at Tech Mahindra Limited, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Fractal Analytics Ltd and Capita PLC. She is also the Chairperson of
the Board of Ather Energy Limited and Capillary Technologies. She advises and mentors various organizations on business transformation.
DSCI, along with the newly appointed Chairperson, and the board will work alongside the Indian Industry and Government bodies to develop policies and practices to strengthen cyber security and data privacy posture while positioning India as a global leader in cyber.
At the backdrop of emerging technologies such as AI and Quantum Computing, and ongoing geopolitical risks, cyber security is getting more complex and needs a collective effort from entire ecosystem to foster innovation and create opportunities for sustainable business growth and development in India.
