Oracle and AWS expand AI database services to South Korea to boost multicloud adoption

Oracle Corporation and Amazon Web Services have announced the launch of Oracle AI Database@AWS in South Korea, marking a significant step in their multicloud strategy. The move is aimed at enabling enterprises in the country to access advanced AI-driven database services directly within AWS environments, enhancing flexibility and performance for data-intensive workloads.

The newly introduced service allows South Korean customers to run Oracle database technologies seamlessly on AWS infrastructure. It includes offerings such as Exadata Database Service, Autonomous AI Database, and Autonomous AI Lakehouse, which are designed to support complex analytics and AI-driven applications. This integration provides organizations with a unified platform to manage and process large volumes of data efficiently.

A key highlight of the collaboration is the co-location of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure within AWS data centers. This setup ensures low-latency connectivity between Oracle databases and AWS services, enabling real-time analytics and faster AI processing. It also eliminates the need for traditional data transfer methods like ETL pipelines, allowing businesses to integrate and analyze data more seamlessly.

The offering is particularly beneficial for enterprises looking to migrate their existing on-premises Oracle databases to the cloud. With minimal changes required, companies can transition their workloads to AWS while retaining the performance and capabilities of Oracle systems. This simplifies cloud adoption and reduces operational complexity for businesses undergoing digital transformation.

The expansion into South Korea reflects growing demand for AI-powered cloud solutions in the region. As organizations increasingly adopt AI and data-driven technologies, the collaboration between Oracle and AWS is expected to support innovation across industries by providing scalable, high-performance infrastructure tailored for modern enterprise needs.
