Apollo Hospitals has appointed Dr Harit Kumar Chaturvedi as the Chief Executive Officer of its Apollo Oncology Network, marking a significant leadership move aimed at strengthening its cancer care division. The appointment brings one of India’s most experienced surgical oncologists into a key strategic role at a time when demand for advanced oncology services is rising.
Dr Harit Kumar Chaturvedi brings more than three decades of experience in surgical oncology and cancer care. He has been widely recognized for his expertise in complex oncological surgeries and his leadership in building multidisciplinary cancer treatment programs across leading healthcare institutions. Over the years, he has played a critical role in advancing patient-centric care models and improving clinical outcomes in oncology.
Before joining Apollo Hospitals in this new capacity, Dr Chaturvedi served as Chairman of the Max Institute of Cancer Care, where he led large teams of oncologists and helped establish integrated cancer care systems. His leadership has been associated with driving innovation in treatment approaches, including the adoption of advanced technologies and collaborative care frameworks.
At Apollo Hospitals, he will oversee the Apollo Oncology Network, which focuses on delivering comprehensive cancer care across multiple centers in India. His role is expected to involve strengthening clinical excellence, expanding oncology services, and enhancing research and innovation within the network. Dr Chaturvedi has also previously been associated with Apollo Hospitals earlier in his career, along with other major institutions such as Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Batra Hospital. His extensive experience across leading healthcare organizations provides him with a strong foundation to lead large-scale oncology operations and implement best practices across the network.
