Singtel Digital InfraCo’s RE:AI and Mistral AI partner to strengthen Singapore’s industry AI capabilities

Singapore,  April 2026  RE:AI, the sovereign AI cloud business of Singtel Digital InfraCo, and Mistral AI, today signed a strategic partnership to accelerate Singapore’s AI capabilities and scale AI adoption across essential industries including financial services, defence, government shared services and healthcare. Aligned with Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0, this latest initiative underscores Singtel’s continued commitment to supporting the country’s transformation into a global AI hub.

The partnership brings together Singtel’s sovereign AI cloud service RE:AI, differentiated by Singtel’s high-quality fixed and mobile networks, with Mistral AI’s open-source software stack and engineering expertise, to develop sector-specific AI use cases. Enterprises will be able to securely deploy solutions from Singtel’s data centre arm Nxera’s upcoming AI-ready data centres in Singapore, Johor and Batam which are interconnected by the Group’s subsea cable links to form a resilient grid to power AI workloads locally and regionally.

Mr Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo unit, said, “As sovereign AI initiatives accelerate across the public and private sectors in the region, our digital infrastructure and AI cloud provide the secure, scalable environment needed to drive adoption and unlock greater innovation. Collaborating with AI leaders like Mistral AI furthers our mission to make AI easily accessible, giving our customers flexibility and choice while meeting their data governance and security requirements. Enhancing our sovereign AI capabilities will also reinforce Singapore’s position as a trusted hub for digital growth and AI innovation.”

Mr Arthur Mensch, CEO and co-founder of Mistral AI, added, “We are proud to partner with Singtel’s RE:AI, whose AI infrastructure and regional leadership make them an ideal ally to drive scalable AI adoption. Together, we will empower enterprises to deploy high-performance, secure AI solutions, accelerating Singapore’s vision as a global AI hub while delivering tangible ROI for industries.”

Co-developing advanced AI Infrastructure

As part of the partnership, Singtel and Mistral AI will co-develop advanced AI infrastructure by integrating Mistral AI’s open-source stack – including training capabilities, foundation models, scalable platforms and agentic workflows – with RE:AI’s GPUs. This will enable secure, multi-tenant GPU-as-a-Service and AI-as-a-Service designed for essential industries and public sector deployments. Mistral AI’s commitment to open-source development, combined with RE:AI’s provision of affordable AI access without heavy infrastructure overheads, will democratise high-performance computing and help enterprises to embrace AI with scale and speed. Mistral AI will also leverage RE:AI as AI cloud infrastructure to roll out Mistral Compute offerings for their internal use and joint customer go-to-market initiatives.

Singtel and Mistral AI will co-develop horizontal solutions that can be applied across industries, leveraging Mistral AI’s expertise to deliver secure, efficient large language models and developer productivity tools. The companies will also pursue vertical projects through Singtel Group’s operating companies to drive sector-specific automation and develop analytics use cases.

Establishing a Singtel-Mistral AI Applied AI Centre of Excellence

To accelerate adoption, the companies will set up an Applied AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) which will serve as a joint engineering hub. The centre will bring together teams from Singtel, Mistral AI and ecosystem partners to co-create secure and compliant AI environments within Singtel’s infrastructure, integrating solutions such as Mistral AI Studio, Mistral Code and other applications.

The CoE will drive rapid prototyping, testing and deployment of AI solutions that address sector-specific challenges and strengthen operational resilience. Singtel Singapore will be the centre’s pilot customer, trialling use cases including customer care AI chatbots, network operations copilots, and AI-assisted network tender evaluation application. Singtel and Mistral AI also intend to engage government agencies and enterprise partners as early adopters for pilot deployments. As part of its broader commitment to building a strong, trusted AI ecosystem in Singapore, Mistral AI will also contribute resources where applicable to projects of Singtel Digital InfraCo’s Centre of Excellence for Applied AI with NVIDIA.
