Venture capital firm 137 Ventures has secured more than $700 million across two new growth-stage funds, aiming to invest in startups with the potential to create significant market impact. The firm, known for backing high-profile companies, continues to focus on scaling businesses operating at the intersection of advanced technology and industrial innovation.
Founded by former Founders Fund investor Justin Fishner-Wolfson, the firm has deployed over $1 billion in the past year alone, targeting sectors such as artificial intelligence, defense technology, and industrial systems. Its recent investments include companies like Cognition, Hadrian Automation, and Anduril, all of which are building next-generation technologies in their respective domains.
137 Ventures is also an early investor in SpaceX, having first backed the company in 2010 and continuing to invest through multiple funding rounds. Reports indicate the firm has participated in numerous deals with SpaceX, which is now widely expected to pursue a landmark IPO that could value the company at over $1 trillion.
The latest fundraising underscores the growing demand for long-term capital in private markets, particularly as startups remain private for longer periods and require sustained financial backing to scale. With this new capital, 137 Ventures is positioning itself to deepen its presence in late-stage investments and support companies that are shaping the future of AI, defense, and advanced manufacturing.
