
PwC India has elevated Swapnil Gupta to the position of Managing Director, marking a significant milestone in his 11+ year journey with the firm. His promotion reflects a long-standing career progression across multiple leadership roles and a consistent contribution to advisory and consulting engagements across key sectors.
During his tenure at PwC India, Gupta has advanced through several senior positions including Senior Consultant, Principal Consultant, Manager, Associate Director, and Director before reaching the Managing Director level. In these roles, he has contributed to a wide range of strategic and advisory projects spanning resource transformation, transaction advisory, infrastructure development, mining strategy, policy formulation, and regulatory consulting.
He has also been actively involved in leading large-scale consulting engagements focused on infrastructure growth and industrial development. His work has included advising private enterprises, institutional investors, and government stakeholders, with a focus on building long-term strategic partnerships and enabling execution-led transformation across sectors.
Prior to joining PwC India, Gupta gained experience across prominent organizations including Minception, Adani Group, Reliance Power Limited, and Reliance Energy. These roles helped him build domain expertise in energy systems, infrastructure planning, procurement strategy, and project development within complex and large-scale operational environments.
Academically, he has completed executive education at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, further strengthening his management and leadership capabilities. His professional expertise spans mining, critical minerals, energy transition, infrastructure advisory, and policy transformation across both domestic and international markets.
His elevation to Managing Director is seen as a recognition of his cross-sector experience and his ability to drive multidisciplinary consulting engagements. At PwC India, he is expected to continue leading high-impact projects focused on infrastructure, energy, and strategic transformation in alignment with evolving market and policy needs.
