Accenture Expands Industrial Cybersecurity Capabilities Through Dragos, runZero, and NetRise Deal

Accenture has announced plans to acquire a majority stake in industrial cybersecurity company Dragos, alongside the complete acquisitions of cybersecurity firms runZero and NetRise, in a transaction valued at approximately $4.175 billion.

The agreement, announced on June 18, 2026, represents one of Accenture’s largest cybersecurity-focused investments to date and signals the company’s increasing focus on protecting operational technology (OT) and critical infrastructure environments from emerging cyber threats.

The deal is expected to close later in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

The three companies collectively generate around $208 million in annual recurring revenue and have reported strong year-over-year growth, reflecting rising global demand for industrial and infrastructure cybersecurity solutions.

Under the proposed structure, Dragos will continue to operate independently as a vendor-neutral cybersecurity provider. Meanwhile, runZero and NetRise will be integrated into the broader Dragos platform to strengthen end-to-end industrial security capabilities.

The acquisition brings together expertise across multiple cybersecurity segments that are becoming increasingly important as industrial systems become more connected and digitally integrated.

Dragos specializes in securing industrial control systems and operational technology environments used across sectors such as energy, manufacturing, transportation, utilities, and critical infrastructure. Its technology focuses on threat detection, industrial network visibility, and incident response for operational environments.

runZero is known for its asset discovery and attack surface management capabilities, helping organizations identify connected devices, map exposures, and improve visibility across enterprise and industrial networks.

NetRise focuses on firmware and software supply chain security, providing organizations with deeper insight into vulnerabilities embedded within firmware components and operational systems before deployment.

Industry experts view the acquisition as part of a broader global shift toward industrial cybersecurity modernization. As organizations accelerate digital transformation initiatives involving cloud infrastructure, AI systems, connected devices, and automation technologies, operational environments are becoming more exposed to cyber risks.

Governments and enterprises worldwide have increasingly prioritized cybersecurity investments following a rise in attacks targeting critical infrastructure, industrial networks, energy systems, and supply chains. Security leaders have also warned that artificial intelligence could enable cybercriminals to automate reconnaissance, identify vulnerabilities faster, and execute increasingly sophisticated attacks.

Accenture’s latest move is expected to strengthen its cybersecurity software and platform capabilities while expanding its presence in the operational technology security market, which industry estimates project will continue growing significantly over the next several years.

The announcement also reflects a broader trend in the cybersecurity sector, where consulting firms and enterprise technology providers are increasingly investing in software-driven security platforms, threat intelligence, and infrastructure protection services to address evolving enterprise security requirements.

Accenture is a global professional services company providing consulting, technology, cloud, AI, cybersecurity, and digital transformation services across industries. The company has been steadily expanding its cybersecurity business as organizations worldwide increase investments in digital resilience, infrastructure security, and enterprise risk management.
