UK-based insurance and reinsurance broker BMS Group has launched a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Mumbai as part of its strategy to strengthen artificial intelligence, data analytics, technology, and operational capabilities across its global business operations.
The Mumbai-based centre will support BMS teams worldwide across multiple functions, including broking operations, client services, analytics, and technology. The company said the GCC will play a critical role in scaling AI-powered tools, enhancing data infrastructure, and supporting operational efficiency initiatives across international markets.
The facility will be led by Nipun Mapara, who has been appointed Managing Director of the GCC, while Sanjeev Poojari will take charge as Head of Operations. The leadership appointments are aimed at driving operational execution and expanding the centre’s contribution to BMS Group’s global business ecosystem.
Commenting on the launch, Nipun Mapara said, “We are already operational and contributing across multiple workstreams, from broking support and client services to analytics and technology. The team here understands that what we build in Mumbai directly impacts how BMS performs globally. That sense of purpose is energising, and we are ready to go.”
The launch of the GCC follows BMS Group’s strategic partnership with BERNS BRETT INDIA INSURANCE BROKING PRIVATE LIMITED (BBI). The move is part of the company’s broader long-term strategy to strengthen its India presence while supporting global growth and operational scalability.
The expansion also reflects the growing importance of India as a global hub for capability centres, AI-driven operations, analytics, and enterprise technology support. Companies across financial services, insurance, and technology sectors are increasingly investing in India-based GCCs to drive digital transformation, improve operational efficiency, and access skilled talent pools.
BMS Group is an independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker providing risk, broking, and advisory services to clients across multiple sectors globally. The company operates across insurance, reinsurance, capital advisory, and specialty risk markets, serving businesses through a network of international offices and partner operations.
