
India — Naveen Srivastava has assumed charge as Chairman of Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL), taking on the leadership of the state-owned transmission utility responsible for planning and coordinating India’s interstate power transmission system.
Srivastava announced the development through a LinkedIn post, confirming that he has taken charge as Chairman of CTUIL. His appointment comes at a time when India is expanding its transmission infrastructure to support rising electricity demand, renewable energy integration, and the government’s clean energy transition objectives.
As Chairman, Srivastava will oversee CTUIL’s responsibilities related to transmission planning, grid connectivity, coordination of interstate transmission projects, and facilitating the integration of renewable energy into the national power grid. The organization plays a key role in ensuring the development of an efficient, reliable, and integrated transmission network across the country.
The appointment follows ongoing investments in India’s transmission infrastructure to accommodate increasing renewable energy capacity, strengthen grid reliability, and support the country’s long-term energy security and decarbonization goals.
Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL) is the designated Central Transmission Utility under the Electricity Act, 2003.
