Kandou AI Opens India Chip Design Headquarters in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, India  — Switzerland-headquartered semiconductor company Kandou AI has inaugurated its India Chip Design Headquarters in Hyderabad, expanding its engineering presence in one of India’s fastest-growing semiconductor and deep-technology ecosystems.

Located at Krishe Emerald in Kondapur, the new facility will serve as Kandou AI’s primary engineering and semiconductor-design hub in India. The centre will focus on advanced chip design, high-speed connectivity technologies and semiconductor solutions supporting artificial intelligence infrastructure, data centres and next-generation computing systems.

The Hyderabad headquarters will house engineering teams working across chip architecture and design, design verification, validation, firmware development, software engineering and systems engineering. Customer-facing technical and support teams will also operate from the facility, enabling closer coordination between product development, engineering operations and global customers.

Kandou AI selected Hyderabad for the expansion due to the city’s growing pool of semiconductor engineers, established technology institutions and developing ecosystem of chip-design, embedded-systems and artificial intelligence companies. The company expects the new headquarters to strengthen collaboration between its Indian engineers and global teams while supporting the development and commercialisation of advanced semiconductor products.

The facility is also expected to contribute to Hyderabad’s broader semiconductor-design ecosystem by creating specialised engineering opportunities across hardware, firmware, software and system-level development. India has been attracting investments from global semiconductor companies seeking access to experienced chip designers and engineers, particularly in cities such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Noida.

At the inauguration, Srujan Linga, CEO and Co-Founder of Kandou AI, highlighted Hyderabad’s technical talent and the company’s long-term commitment to building semiconductor and AI infrastructure technologies from India. Kandou AI also plans to engage with universities, industry organisations and government stakeholders to support skill development and expand the availability of semiconductor engineering talent.

The opening event was attended by employees, customers, partners, industry representatives and government officials. K.T. Rama Rao, BRS Working President and former Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, attended the programme as the chief guest.

The new centre strengthens Hyderabad’s position as an emerging destination for semiconductor research, design and engineering. The city already hosts technology operations and development centres of several global chip and electronics companies, supported by a skilled workforce and state-level initiatives aimed at attracting advanced manufacturing and deep-technology investments.

Kandou AI is a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Saint-Sulpice, Switzerland. It develops high-speed, low-power connectivity technologies designed to improve bandwidth, latency and energy efficiency across data centres, artificial intelligence systems, high-performance computing platforms and consumer electronics. The company operates across international markets and has reported that products incorporating its technology have shipped in more than 28 million silicon units globally.
