Visakhapatnam, India — NTT DATA Business Solutions, together with Proven Tech, has inaugurated a new technology centre at IT Hills-2 in Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam, expanding its delivery and engineering presence in India.
The facility has commenced operations with approximately 300 professionals, including more than 200 employees hired locally. The company plans to expand the workforce to between 2,000 and 3,000 professionals as operations scale, according to details shared during the inauguration.
The new office was inaugurated by Mathukumilli Sribharat, Member of Parliament for Visakhapatnam. Sribharat said the Andhra Pradesh government would support the company’s expansion plans as it increases employment and strengthens its operations in the city. The facility is located within Rushikonda’s established information technology corridor, which hosts several technology and business-services companies.
The centre expands NTT DATA Business Solutions’ technology-delivery footprint and gives the company access to Visakhapatnam’s engineering and digital talent base. The planned workforce expansion will create roles for technology professionals while increasing the company’s capacity to support enterprise customers across domestic and international markets.
The investment comes as Visakhapatnam seeks to attract more technology companies and Global Capability Centres. The city’s existing IT infrastructure, educational institutions and availability of skilled professionals have supported its development as an alternative technology destination beyond India’s largest metropolitan markets.
The expansion also aligns with NTT DATA’s broader focus on India’s Global Capability Centre ecosystem. In March 2026, the company launched a GCC Innovation Acceleration Programme to help global businesses establish and scale offshore innovation and delivery centres in India. NTT DATA said India was selected for the programme because of its technology talent and engineering capabilities.
The Visakhapatnam facility represents an operational expansion rather than a proposed investment. However, the increase to nearly 3,000 employees is a future growth plan and should be presented as a company target rather than an already achieved workforce figure.
