DEPL Appoints Dr Mukul H Chopra as Group CHRO

Navi Mumbai: Dinesh Engineers Limited, commonly known as DEPL, has appointed Dr Mukul H Chopra as Group Chief Human Resources Officer as the infrastructure company prepares for its next phase of expansion across telecom, digital infrastructure, green energy and emerging businesses.

In his new role, Chopra will lead DEPL’s group-wide people strategy and work closely with the leadership team to build a high-performing and future-ready organisation. His responsibilities will span organisational development, leadership capability, workforce planning, employee engagement and the alignment of the company’s talent strategy with its long-term business objectives.

Announcing his appointment, Chopra thanked DEPL’s leadership for the welcome and the trust placed in him. He said he looked forward to partnering with the leadership team and employees to build a “high performance, people centric, and future ready organization”.

“Together, we will strive to create a culture of excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning that enables both our people and our business to thrive,” Chopra said.

Chopra brings nearly three decades of human-resources leadership experience across the telecommunications, technology, infrastructure, retail, digital and supply-chain sectors. DEPL said he is known for building high-performing organisations and leading transformation through people strategy, organisational culture, leadership development and operational excellence.

Before joining DEPL, Chopra served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Transaction Solutions International India. He joined the transaction-automation company in August 2024 after spending more than two-and-a-half years as CHRO at education-technology company ConveGenius.

He held human-resources leadership roles at companies including Airtel, Reliance Infocomm, Reliance Retail, Huawei, Arshiya International, Aircel and Club Factory. His experience has covered talent acquisition, organisational transformation, international HR operations and the development of people functions for expanding businesses.

Chopra began his career as an engineer at Jindal Strips before moving into human resources following an MBA in HR from Panjab University. He is also an engineering graduate of Punjab Engineering College.

DEPL provides passive communication infrastructure and turnkey project-management services to telecom operators and internet service providers. Its offerings include optical-fibre network rollout, operations and maintenance, dark-fibre services, smart-city connectivity, FTTx deployment and gas and electrical infrastructure projects. The company says it has completed more than 40,000 kilometres of network and operates its own network spanning over 20,000 kilometres.
