Cybersecurity startup Neo has emerged from stealth after raising a combined $100 million through seed and Series A financing to help enterprises manage security risks created by AI-enabled and autonomous business applications.
The funding came from Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Craft Ventures and Merlin Ventures. Neo did not disclose the separate sizes of the seed and Series A rounds or its valuation following the financing.
Boston-headquartered Neo was founded by former SentinelOne executives Nick Warner and Shlomi Salem, along with technology industry veteran Eran Shirazi. Warner serves as the company’s chief executive.
Neo is developing a security platform that gives enterprises visibility into applications equipped with AI and agentic capabilities. The platform is intended to help security teams identify AI-enabled software across their organisations, understand what actions those applications can perform and control their access to sensitive corporate information.
The company is targeting risks created when conventional business applications receive AI features through software updates. Such applications can potentially reason, make decisions and perform tasks independently, changing their security profile and the level of access they may require.
“Enterprise security was built for a world where software behaved predictably,” Warner said while describing the problem Neo intends to address.
According to Warner, existing enterprise-security controls may struggle to keep pace as previously predictable software becomes capable of autonomous action. The concern extends beyond malicious AI models to ordinary workplace applications that acquire agentic features and gain access to corporate systems, documents and customer information.
The development is relevant to Indian enterprises as organisations across banking, IT services, healthcare, telecommunications and other regulated sectors adopt generative AI and agent-based automation. Neo’s launch highlights the growing need for companies to maintain an inventory of AI applications, restrict unnecessary data access and apply governance controls before autonomous software is deployed at scale. The company has not announced a dedicated India operation or India-specific product launch.
Neo is a Boston-based enterprise cybersecurity company focused on securing AI-enabled applications and autonomous software. Its founding team brings experience across cybersecurity, enterprise technology and product development, including senior leadership roles at SentinelOne. The company will use its financing to develop its platform, expand its team and support enterprise deployments.
