IndusInd Bank has appointed Gireesh Kunnathattil as Head – MNC & GCC Coverage, taking on a leadership mandate focused on strengthening the bank’s relationships and business coverage across multinational corporations (MNCs) and global capability centres (GCCs).
Kunnathattil brings extensive experience in corporate banking, large-corporate relationships, real estate and infrastructure. His new role will focus on strengthening coverage of multinational companies and GCCs, areas that require dedicated corporate banking and relationship-management capabilities.
Before joining IndusInd Bank, Kunnathattil spent more than 10 years with Axis Bank, building extensive experience across corporate banking and large-corporate relationships. He most recently served as Group Head – South, Real Economy Group, where his responsibilities included leadership within the bank’s corporate business.
During his tenure at Axis Bank, Kunnathattil also held leadership roles covering large corporates and corporate banking, adding to his experience in managing relationships with major businesses and institutions.
Earlier in his career, Kunnathattil worked in corporate banking at ICICI Bank. He had also held an earlier corporate banking role at Axis Bank, giving him experience across two major private-sector banks before returning to Axis Bank for a longer leadership stint.
His professional journey has therefore covered multiple areas of corporate finance and relationship management, including large corporates, real economy businesses, real estate and infrastructure. This experience forms the foundation for his new responsibility at IndusInd Bank.
In his role as Head – MNC & GCC Coverage, Kunnathattil will lead business coverage for multinational corporations and global capability centres, with a focus on strengthening relationships and supporting the bank’s engagement with these segments.
The appointment marks another step in Kunnathattil’s banking career, following more than a decade at Axis Bank and earlier experience at ICICI Bank. His background across corporate banking and large-enterprise relationships brings relevant experience to IndusInd Bank’s MNC and GCC coverage mandate.
