Vivek Jaiswal, ITS, has joined Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) as Chairman & Managing Director and Director (Technical), bringing more than three decades of experience across telecommunications, electronics, instrumentation, technology, business development and public-sector management.
Jaiswal’s professional career includes leadership experience with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). His background spans both technical and business functions, with experience in technology-driven operations and strategic business development.
Before joining ECIL, Jaiswal served at BSNL as Principal General Manager (Enterprise Business). In this role, he was responsible for large-scale operations, enterprise business development and major technology projects. His experience also includes managing profit-and-loss portfolios exceeding ₹1,000 crore, adding significant exposure to financial and operational management.
His career across the telecommunications and public-sector ecosystem has provided experience in technology execution, enterprise operations, business development and management of large-scale projects. His work at BSNL, along with his earlier roles at ONGC and the Department of Telecommunications, has given him exposure to multiple areas of the technology and public-sector landscape.
Jaiswal holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. He has also completed executive programmes at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and ESCP Europe, adding to his academic and management background.
At ECIL, Jaiswal takes on a combined leadership mandate as Chairman & Managing Director and Director (Technical). His experience across telecommunications, electronics, technology and business operations provides a broad professional foundation for the role.
His appointment brings together technical expertise and business leadership experience developed over more than 30 years. His background in managing large operations, technology projects, enterprise businesses and significant P&L portfolios will form an important part of his professional profile as he takes on the leadership role at ECIL.
The move marks another step in Jaiswal’s career across India’s telecommunications, technology and public-sector ecosystem, following senior responsibilities at BSNL, the Department of Telecommunications and ONGC.
