Sterlite Electric Appoints Vani Sundaram as Chief Financial Officer

Sterlite Electric has appointed Vani Sundaram as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Sundaram took charge of the position in May 2026, bringing more than 13 years of experience in finance across financial planning and analysis, controllership, financial reporting and corporate finance.

Sundaram announced the new role through a LinkedIn post, describing the move as a new chapter in her career. In the post, she said she was excited to return to an organisation and an industry she knows well. The LinkedIn post also identifies her as Chief Financial Officer at Sterlite Electric.

In her new role, Sundaram will contribute across growth, profitability, capital allocation, governance and value creation. Her responsibilities will also include strengthening the finance function as a strategic partner to the business.

Sundaram returns to Sterlite after previously holding multiple finance positions within the organisation. Her earlier roles included Head of Finance, AVP Finance Head and Chief Manager – Finance. She spent more than four years with Sterlite Power before moving to other finance leadership positions.

Before taking up the CFO role at Sterlite Electric, Sundaram served as Director of Finance at Tenneco Clean Air India Limited. She had earlier worked with Azure Power as Head – FP&A and Controllership. Her career also includes finance roles at Stryker and Indus Towers Limited. At Stryker, she served as Associate Controller & Manager – Finance, while at Indus Towers Limited she held the positions of Manager – FP&A and Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting.

Her professional experience also includes working as an Executive at KPMG US and at B. Shankar Aiyar & Company. The appointment therefore marks Sundaram’s return to Sterlite after experience across several finance functions and organisations.

Sterlite Electric’s official website currently lists Vani Sundaram among its Key Managerial Personnel and Senior Management Personnel, with her designation shown as Chief Financial Officer.

Sundaram’s appointment comes as she returns to an organisation and industry with which she has prior experience. Her new mandate includes contributing to the company’s growth, profitability, capital allocation, governance and value creation while strengthening the finance function’s role within the business.
