
Russian aviation, technology, energy, mining, nuclear and heavy-industry companies are preparing to pursue expanded manufacturing partnerships and technology-transfer arrangements in India during INNOPROM.India, scheduled for September 9–11 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The exhibition is being organised jointly by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry ahead of the BRICS Summit. Its stated objectives include expanding industrial cooperation, opening market access for technology companies and suppliers, developing investment opportunities and building direct links between manufacturers and buyers. The official event programme identifies digital technologies, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, materials and extractive-industry technologies among the principal sectors.
Russian participants are expected to include Rostec, Rosatom, Roscosmos, Rusal, Sber, Transmashholding, PhosAgro and the Russian Export Center, alongside regional delegations and exporters. Indian participants include industrial and state-linked enterprises across minerals, steel, electronics, cables and manufacturing.
The main plenary meeting on September 10 is due to bring together Russian industry and trade minister Anton Alikhanov and Indian commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal. The programme covers bilateral investment, market access and joint industrial projects, with additional sessions on regional aviation, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, trade infrastructure, critical minerals, raw materials and additive manufacturing. Details published ahead of the event describe technology transfer and local manufacturing as central elements of the Russian companies’ India plans.
The discussions build on the August meeting of the India-Russia Working Group on Modernisation and Industrial Cooperation. Officials reviewed collaboration involving the Vande Bharat programme, railway signalling, unmanned aerial systems, the SJ-100 regional aircraft, aero-engines, carbon-fibre and propulsion technologies, industrial automation, 3D printing, lithium, titanium and rare-earth exploration. Around 60 delegates attended that session and signed a protocol covering the identified areas. The government record of the working-group meeting provides the formal sectoral framework for the forthcoming industry engagement.
Rosatom has separately confirmed that senior executives and specialists from its main divisions will participate. Its additive-manufacturing business supplied a RusBeam 2800 industrial 3D-printing installation to India in April 2026, providing an existing example of Russian advanced-manufacturing equipment entering the Indian market.
The September meetings remain exploratory for many participating companies. No aggregate investment figure or completed package of technology-transfer agreements has been announced. The commercial outcome will depend on individual contracts, regulatory approvals, localisation requirements and financing arrangements.
The programme nevertheless places technology transfer, joint production and supplier access at the centre of the bilateral industrial agenda. Its coverage extends from established nuclear and heavy-engineering cooperation to digital platforms, aviation systems, critical-material processing and factory automation.
