Britannia Industries has appointed Rejin Surendran as Chief Digital and Information Officer (Designate), strengthening its leadership team as the company prepares for the next phase of its digital and technology transformation. Surendran announced the move on LinkedIn, saying he was looking forward to working with the team to accelerate Britannia’s digital journey.
The appointment was approved by Britannia Industries’ Board of Directors on August 31, 2026, following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. According to the company’s regulatory filing, Surendran was appointed as Chief Digital and Information Officer (Designate) with effect from September 1, 2026, and will formally assume the position of Chief Digital and Information Officer from October 1, 2026.
The transition follows the retirement of Susheel Navanale, Britannia’s Chief Information Officer, who will retire from the company at the close of business on September 30, 2026.
Surendran brings more than 24 years of experience in digital and technology transformation. Before joining Britannia, he served as Global Chief Information Officer at Wipro Enterprises Private Limited, where he led a global technology team operating across 25 countries for more than 4.5 years.
Prior to Wipro Enterprises, Surendran was Head of Digital & ERP CoE at Coca-Cola’s Bottling Investments Group, where he was responsible for driving the organisation’s digital transformation journey. His earlier career also includes more than 13 years at Unilever, where he worked on the company’s digital supply-chain roadmap, including the digitisation of factories and logistics operations.
Surendran’s professional background covers several areas of enterprise technology, including digital transformation, enterprise resource planning, supply-chain technology and technology-led business transformation. His experience has included working across large multinational organisations and consumer-focused businesses. His profile also lists expertise spanning areas such as AI and machine learning, big data and predictive analytics, cloud, ERP and IoT.
He holds a Master of Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, and a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal.
In his LinkedIn announcement, Surendran said he was looking forward to collaborating with Britannia’s team to accelerate its digital journey and support the next phase of growth for the company.
With Surendran set to formally take over the Chief Digital and Information Officer role on October 1, Britannia will have a technology leader with more than two decades of experience in digital transformation, supply-chain technology and enterprise systems at the helm of its digital and information functions.
