Abhinav Trivedi has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Capital Limited, taking charge of the company after more than two decades of experience across banking, capital markets, financial markets, wealth management, strategy and business transformation. Trivedi announced the move on LinkedIn, stating that he has started a new position as MD & CEO at Standard Chartered Capital Limited.
The appointment took effect on August 17, 2026, following approval from the Reserve Bank of India on August 5, 2026. The appointment is for a period of five years, running through August 16, 2031. Standard Chartered Capital Limited subsequently disclosed the appointment through its regulatory filings.
Prior to taking on the MD & CEO position, Trivedi served as Executive Director & Head – Capital Market Products at Standard Chartered Bank India. In that role, he led the Capital Markets business across the retail and SME segments, covering areas including foreign exchange, lending against securities, fixed income securities and depository services. Standard Chartered Capital’s official leadership profile describes him as a seasoned banking and financial services leader with more than two decades of experience.
Trivedi has held several leadership positions during his career with Standard Chartered. His previous responsibilities have included Executive Director and Head – Retail FX, as well as senior roles in financial markets and business planning. He has also served as Managing Director and CEO of Standard Chartered Securities (India) Ltd., giving him experience across both banking and financial-services businesses within the Standard Chartered group.
Earlier in his Standard Chartered career, Trivedi served as Business Planning Manager to the CEO, India, along with roles including Director, Financial Market Sales and Director, Financial Markets. His career has therefore covered multiple areas of the financial-services business, ranging from financial markets and capital-market products to strategy, governance and business transformation.
As MD & CEO of Standard Chartered Capital Limited, Trivedi will lead the company’s business at a time when financial institutions are increasingly expanding their offerings across lending, investment and capital-market solutions. His experience across retail and SME capital-market products provides a background relevant to the company’s financial-services operations.
Standard Chartered Capital Limited is part of the Standard Chartered Group, with Standard Chartered Bank, UK holding 100% of the company’s share capital, according to the company’s regulatory disclosures. The company operates as a financial-services business within the Standard Chartered ecosystem.
Trivedi’s appointment also represents a continuation of his leadership journey within the Standard Chartered group. Rather than joining the organisation from outside, he moves into the MD & CEO role after holding several senior positions within Standard Chartered Bank India and Standard Chartered Securities India.
His experience across capital markets, wealth management, financial markets, strategy, governance and business transformation is expected to form the foundation of his leadership at Standard Chartered Capital. The company’s official profile highlights his previous responsibility for the Capital Markets business serving retail and SME customers and covering multiple financial products.
With Trivedi now leading Standard Chartered Capital Limited as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, the appointment marks another step in his career within the Standard Chartered group and brings extensive financial-markets and business leadership experience to the company’s top executive position.
