TRF Limited has appointed Shubhra Singh as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective September 15, 2026. Singh joins TRF from Tata Steel Limited, where she was serving as Head – HR Business Partner for the Tubes Division.
With more than 20 years of experience at Tata Steel, Singh brings extensive exposure to human resources, HR business partnering and people management across multiple functions and business areas. Her appointment adds a seasoned HR professional to TRF’s leadership team as the company continues to manage its people and organisational priorities.
Before joining TRF, Singh served as Head – HR Business Partner for Tata Steel’s Tubes Division. She took up the role in 2023, after previously serving as Senior Manager – HRBP. Her responsibilities included working closely with business teams on HR requirements and people-related matters.
Singh’s career with Tata Steel began in 2007, when she joined the company as Manager – Human Resources. She subsequently held roles including Senior Manager – HRM and Senior Manager – HRBP, gaining experience across different aspects of the human resources function.
Her professional experience covers areas including HR business partnering, human resource management, employee engagement and people-related initiatives. Having worked across different verticals and functions within Tata Steel, she brings familiarity with the people and organisational requirements of a large industrial enterprise.
Singh holds an MBA in Human Resources, which she completed between 2005 and 2007. Her academic background in HR, combined with more than two decades of professional experience, has provided her with a broad foundation across human resources and organisational management.
At TRF, Singh will lead the company’s human resources function, with responsibilities spanning people management, employee relations, talent management and other HR activities. Her role will involve supporting the organisation’s people priorities and working with business leadership on workforce and organisational requirements.
Singh succeeds Abhijeet Singh, who ceased to be TRF’s CHRO effective September 15, 2026, and is moving to another assignment within the Tata Steel Group. The leadership transition marks a change in the company’s HR leadership while retaining continuity within the broader Tata Steel Group ecosystem.
TRF Limited is part of the Tata Steel Group and operates in engineering and material-handling solutions. The company serves industrial sectors including steel, mining, power and ports. Its operations are based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
Singh’s appointment comes with her extensive experience in HR roles within Tata Steel and positions her to lead TRF’s human resources function from September 15. Her move also represents a continuation of her career within the Tata Group, transitioning from a senior HR business-partnering role at Tata Steel to the CHRO position at TRF.
