Texas Instruments Revenue Rises 28% on Industrial, Automotive and Data-Centre Demand

Texas Instruments reported third-quarter revenue of $6.06 billion as broad-based growth across industrial, automotive and data-centre markets strengthened demand for its analog and embedded-processing chips. Revenue increased 28% from the same quarter a year earlier and 11% sequentially.

Net income reached $2.43 billion, an increase of 78% from $1.36 billion in the comparable period. Earnings per share rose 77% to $2.62, including a one-cent reduction that was not part of the company’s original guidance. Operating profit increased 73% to $2.87 billion.

Analog products generated $4.91 billion in revenue, up 32%, with operating profit increasing 69% to $2.51 billion. Embedded-processing revenue rose 21% to $858 million, while operating profit for the segment more than doubled to $227 million. Revenue from other activities declined 6% to $286 million.

Texas Instruments generated $3.42 billion in cash flow from operations during the quarter. Over the preceding 12 months, operating cash flow totalled $9.9 billion, an increase of 43%, while free cash flow reached $8.42 billion. The company invested $4 billion in research, development and administrative operations and $2.6 billion in capital expenditure over the same period.

A total of $5.8 billion was returned to shareholders during the trailing 12 months. This included approximately $5.17 billion in dividends and $636 million in share repurchases. Cash and cash equivalents stood at $4.21 billion at the end of September, compared with $3.31 billion a year earlier.

For the fourth quarter, Texas Instruments expects revenue of between $5.8 billion and $6.3 billion. Earnings are forecast at $2.45 to $2.79 per share.

The company designs and manufactures chips used across factory equipment, vehicles, communications systems, personal electronics and computing infrastructure. Its reported growth across industrial and automotive markets, alongside data-centre demand, provides a broad indicator of semiconductor consumption beyond the high-end processors most closely associated with generative AI.

Texas Instruments has also continued to emphasise its 300mm manufacturing capacity as a factor supporting cost efficiency and cash generation.
