Swiggy reported a consolidated net loss of ₹922 crore for the second quarter of FY27, narrowing from ₹1,092 crore in the corresponding period last year, as revenue from operations increased 36.1% to ₹7,571 crore.
Total income reached ₹7,783 crore, while expenses climbed to ₹8,703 crore from ₹6,711 crore a year earlier. The increase in expenditure continued to keep the food-delivery and quick-commerce company in the red despite the improvement in its consolidated loss.
The food-delivery business produced its highest reported profit and margin for a quarter. Gross order value grew 17.7% year on year to ₹10,054 crore, while adjusted EBITDA increased by ₹101 crore to ₹341 crore. The segment’s adjusted EBITDA margin reached 3.4% of gross order value.
Swiggy’s out-of-home consumption operation recorded gross order value of ₹1,508 crore, representing 34.9% annual growth. The unit completed its seventh consecutive profitable quarter on an adjusted EBITDA basis, with a margin of 0.5% of gross order value.
Instamart remained the group’s principal expansion business. Net order value rose 31.4% year on year and 13.4% sequentially to ₹6,954 crore. The company added 69 dark stores during the quarter, increasing the network to 1,240 locations.
Instamart’s contribution margin improved by 157 basis points from a year earlier but weakened by 82 basis points sequentially to negative 1% of gross order value. The business reported a quarterly loss of ₹895 crore, while its adjusted EBITDA margin moved marginally to negative 9.7% from negative 9.8% in the preceding quarter.
Managing director and group chief executive Sriharsha Majety said the company was continuing to invest in differentiated assortment and new consumption categories. Swiggy also obtained approvals needed to qualify as an Indian-owned and controlled company, with the associated transition now under way.
The quarter therefore reflected two distinct operating trajectories: stronger profitability and margins in food delivery, alongside continued expenditure on quick-commerce capacity, store additions and customer acquisition.
