Abbott India Appoints Nilesh P. as Head of Marketing

Abbott India Limited has appointed Nilesh P. as Head of Marketing, entrusting him with a strategic mandate to accelerate brand growth, drive commercial excellence, and expand the company’s portfolio presence in India. In his new leadership role, he will shape marketing strategy and strengthen Abbott’s market positioning, particularly within its vaccines business.

Nilesh brings with him deep domain expertise across vaccines, rare diseases, and chronic therapies. He will now oversee the marketing strategy and commercial direction for Abbott India’s vaccines portfolio, focusing on driving growth, improving access, and building innovative activation pathways in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

Before joining Abbott India, Nilesh spent over seven years at Pfizer, where he held several key leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Business Activation Lead – Vaccines, leading marketing and activation strategies for Prevenar 13/20 across care accounts and corporate pathways. In this role, he developed value dossiers and cost-benefit models for key decision-makers and implemented patient assistance programs to enhance affordability and continuity of care across emerging markets.

Earlier at Pfizer, he worked as Health Solution Partner – Vaccines & Rare Disease, where he supported the activation of Centers of Excellence and strengthened therapy adherence initiatives. As Country Brand Manager, he shaped marketing strategies for large portfolios through data-driven campaigns and digital channel engagement, further sharpening his expertise in strategic brand management.

Prior to his tenure at Pfizer, Nilesh held senior commercial roles at Cipla, where he led high-value portfolios, drove diabetes portfolio growth, and managed new product launches alongside broader strategic brand initiatives.

He began his professional journey at Lauritz Knudsen Electrical & Automation, building a strong foundation in sales, marketing, and business development that would later support his transition into the pharmaceutical sector.

With a career spanning pharmaceutical marketing, brand strategy, go-to-market execution, and business activation across leading organizations, Nilesh now steps into his role at Abbott India with a mandate to scale impact, strengthen market access, and steer the vaccines division through its next phase of growth.
