Agritech Startup KhetiBuddy Launches Verdnt advancing towards an AI-Native SaaS Backbone for Agri-Food Businesses

National: KhetiBuddy, a global agritech startup working with agri-food supply chains, today announced the launch of Verdnt, its next-generation enterprise SaaS platform marking the company’s strategic direction towards building an AI-native SaaS backbone for mid-to-large agribusinesses operating across complex and fragmented supply chains.

Agribusiness increasingly operate across geographically dispersed farms, markets, and supplier networks. As a result, they often depend on systems that provide limited visibility into on-ground farming practices. This lack of integration creates gaps in farm-level traceability, restricts the ability to assess climate and production risks, and complicates contract compliance and execution. Verdnt functions as an enterprise data backbone that unifies agronomy, operations, and sustainability workflows. By bringing farm data into procurement, production planning, inventory management, and sustainability dashboards, the platform allows enterprises to move from retrospective reporting to proactive, data-driven decision-making.

Designed for Mid-size to Large agri-food businesses, Food and beverage companies, Agri-Input companies along with large enterprises for whom farm data visibility is important in operational and regulatory decision-making, Verdnt moves beyond standalone tools by ensuring consistent, auditable data flows from farms to enterprise systems.

The platform’s AI capabilities are built on top of an existing backbone that captures structured information across farm operations, sustainability metrics and enterprise workflows. This allows AI to be applied gradually for functions such as risk identification and decision support, while assuring there is transparency and human oversight. The models used in Verdnt are trained using agronomic, climate and compliance-related data to ensure outputs are explainable and auditable.

Commenting on the launch, Vinay Nair, Founder & CEO, KhetiBuddy, said, “Verdnt represents our long-term direction towards building an AI-native SaaS backbone for agribusinesses. Agri-food generates vast amounts of data, but much of it remains disconnected from enterprise decision-making. Our focus with Verdnt is to create a system where farm intelligence becomes part of core business operations rather than a standalone reporting exercise.”

Verdnt builds on KhetiBuddy’s enterprise deployments across food companies, wineries, and agri-input businesses, where its software has supported farm digitisation, sustainability reporting, and compliance readiness. Recent pilots in North America and Europe have further validated the platform’s ability to integrate farm and sustainability data into enterprise environments.

With Verdnt, KhetiBuddy aims to establish a common operational and intelligence layer for agri-food enterprises, positioning farm data as a foundational component of enterprise systems.
