Applied Intuition Launches Applied Edge, the First Mobile Operations Center for Autonomous Systems

The company unveils a development and operating platform with permanent autonomy that can be deployed in the field

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April , 2026Applied Intuition, Inc., the physical AI specialist, today launches the first purpose-built mobile operations center to develop, test, and operate autonomous systems. Applied Edge integrates robust computing, satellite and radio communications, and the Axion autonomy toolchain into a field-deployable node, allowing teams to build, iterate, and operate at mission speed without having to set up new infrastructure.

“Applied Intuition reduces the distance between the lab and the mission,” said Qasar Younis, co-founder and CEO of Applied Intuition. “Today, all teams building advanced autonomous systems face the same obstacle: the exercise ends, the racks shut down, and telemetry remains in the field while the process resets in the office. The cycle of building and demolishing autonomy stacks between events is complete. Teams moving at mission speed will define the future of autonomous systems, and Edge is the reason they can do that.”

Deploy to where the mission is. Pick up where you left off.

Defence autonomy is evolving rapidly, but the infrastructure that underpins it has not kept pace. Government test fields — designed for hardware, not software — add months of programming overhead and don’t offer a permanent DevSecOps environment. The disparity between the needs for autonomy and infrastructure has never been greater.

As autonomy programs move from one-off demonstrations to repeated field operations, teams need a software-defined infrastructure that remains active between events. The same pressure exists in defense and heavy industry: mining, construction, and other environments where machines need to be developed and validated where they operate, not just in the lab.

Axion Sim and Mission Control run natively on Edge so teams can plan missions, replay logs, assess behavior, coordinate multi-asset operations, and stream live telemetry, all from a single platform deployed wherever the mission requires it.

Key Capabilities:

  • go to the site, plug in, and get to work: the Edge node comes fully equipped with power, HVAC, rugged servers, 5G/Starlink communications, and ready-to-arrive workstations, with no assembly required.
  • No resets or changes: Data, models, and workflows persist between test events. The teams pick up where they left off, without losing context or days of preparation.
  • Build, test, and iterate at the edge: The Axion tool provides a complete development environment at the test site.
  • Secure and compliant environments: Edge supports SCIF/SAPF configurations and allows classified programs to run from the Edge without requiring fixed installations.
