Coursera has appointed Ashutosh Gupta as its new Managing Director for India and Asia Pacific, signaling a strategic move to strengthen the company’s enterprise presence across the region. In this role, Gupta will lead Coursera’s enterprise business, focusing on expanding its reach among businesses, governments, and educational institutions across India, Southeast Asia, and the broader APAC markets.
Bringing over 25 years of leadership experience, Gupta is recognized for his deep expertise in digital transformation, SaaS growth, and go-to-market strategies. His diverse regional exposure across India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East positions him well to drive Coursera’s next phase of expansion.
Before joining Coursera, Gupta served as an Operating Partner at Avataar Venture Partners, where he worked closely with growth-stage companies to optimize go-to-market execution, scale revenues, and prepare for public listings. His strategic insights and operational guidance helped businesses accelerate their transformation journeys.
Gupta also had a long and impactful tenure at LinkedIn, spanning over 11 years. He held several key roles, including Country Manager for India and Managing Director for Marketing Solutions across APAC and China. During his time at LinkedIn, he played a pivotal role in the platform’s regional expansion and business acceleration, contributing significantly to its footprint across Asia.
His professional background also includes senior leadership roles at industry giants such as Google, Cognizant, Infosys, and ICICIDirect, further underlining his broad-based experience across technology, consulting, and financial services.
