Baya Systems Expands Bengaluru Engineering Hub to Power Next-Gen AI and Semiconductor Innovation
Baya Systems has expanded its engineering hub in Bengaluru, reinforcing India’s growing importance in the development of next-generation semiconductor technologies for artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), and automotive systems. The expanded facility, located at Brigade Metropolis, officially opened on January 14 as the company moves to address rising global demand for software-driven, chiplet-based architectures.

The expansion marks a significant milestone in Baya Systems’ global growth strategy, positioning Bengaluru as a core centre for innovation and advanced engineering. Over the past two years, the hub has scaled rapidly, growing from just five employees in 2023 to more than 50 engineers today. The company expects this number to exceed 100 by the end of 2026, reflecting sustained investment in local talent and long-term confidence in India’s semiconductor ecosystem.

The Bengaluru team plays a critical role in building the foundational technologies that enable modern AI and HPC platforms. According to the company, the centre contributes to the “development and delivery of the company’s software-defined semiconductor fabric technologies that power scalable, high-performance, chiplet-based systems for AI and HPC systems worldwide.” These fabric technologies are increasingly central to modern chip design, enabling modular, interoperable architectures that improve performance, flexibility, and time to market.

Baya Systems’ decision to deepen its footprint in India aligns with broader industry trends, as global semiconductor firms look to diversify engineering operations and tap into specialised skills. India offers a strong pipeline of semiconductor, systems, and software engineering talent, alongside a growing focus on advanced hardware design and infrastructure. By expanding its Bengaluru hub, Baya Systems aims to accelerate innovation cycles, improve collaboration across geographies, and deliver complex intellectual property at scale.

The Bengaluru expansion also complements the company’s recent growth in Europe, including the establishment of a presence in Cambridge. Together, these hubs are expected to strengthen Baya Systems’ global engineering network, enabling closer collaboration between teams working across different time zones and markets. This distributed model supports faster execution while maintaining high technical standards across product development.

As demand for AI and HPC continues to grow, driven by data-intensive workloads and increasingly complex system requirements, Baya Systems’ expanded Bengaluru centre is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of chiplet-based semiconductor design and fabric IP for global customers.
