Bengaluru-Based Defence Startup UNMANND Raises $2 Million in Pre-Seed Round

Bengaluru-based defence technology startup UNMANND has raised $2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Speciale Invest and Accel, marking one of the largest early-stage financings in India’s deeptech defence sector this year. The capital will be deployed to commercialize its heavy-duty drone platform Titan, accelerate the development of its anti-drone interceptor system Fury, expand its engineering team, and explore international defence export opportunities.

Founded in February 2025 by Yeshwanth Reddy and Hemaditya Prasad, UNMANND focuses on autonomous aerial systems designed for logistics and security operations in defence settings. Its flagship platform, Titan, is a heavy-lift drone already qualified by the Indian defence forces, paving the way for upcoming procurement opportunities. Meanwhile, Fury, an advanced drone interceptor system, is capable of detecting hostile UAVs up to 30 km away and deploying interceptors at speeds of 300 km/h, underscoring the startup’s cutting-edge technological capabilities.

The pre-seed funding reflects growing investor confidence in India’s defence-tech ecosystem, attracting both venture capital and strategic interest. By addressing critical gaps in aerial logistics and security, UNMANND is positioning itself as a key enabler of modern defence infrastructure while building a foundation for scaling into global markets.

“The funding will help commercialise its heavy-duty drone platform Titan, accelerate development of its anti-drone interceptor system Fury, expand the engineering team, and explore international defence export opportunities,” the company stated.

With its dual focus on logistics automation and aerial security, UNMANND is emerging as a strategic player in India’s defence landscape. The startup’s technology combines autonomous systems, advanced sensors, and high-speed intercept capabilities, reflecting the country’s growing capability in homegrown deeptech solutions for defence applications. As it expands operations and explores export markets, UNMANND aims to strengthen both domestic security infrastructure and India’s presence in the global defence technology arena.
