Biswaroop Mukherjee has been appointed as the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) for the Battery Business at Reliance Industries Limited, effective July 2025. In his new role, Mukherjee will spearhead the people strategy for one of Reliance’s most ambitious and transformative verticals, supporting its long-term mission of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2035. His appointment is a strategic move to strengthen the company’s clean energy leadership and reinforce its commitment to talent-driven growth.

Mukherjee brings with him more than 20 years of global HR leadership experience, having worked across a wide range of industries and geographies. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of Vice President – People and Transformation at Aker Solutions. He has also served in senior roles at Deloitte, ABP Network, and was the Head of HR for the Commercial Vehicle Business at Tata Motors, where he oversaw HR operations across India and several international subsidiaries.
His experience spans Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and Africa, giving him a unique perspective on cross-cultural team leadership and large-scale change management. This global exposure makes him especially well-suited to navigate the complexities of Reliance’s evolving energy portfolio and to build a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
