On Monday, in the presence of Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with global telecom leaders Ericsson, Qualcomm, Cisco, and Nokia. The initiative focuses on training India’s youth in next-generation technologies, including 5G, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), and digital networking, as part of the country’s digital transformation and the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Highlighting the significance of the collaboration, Minister Scindia stated, “Today marks the beginning of a new dawn.” He described the initiative as “a confluence between the world and India, a confluence between India’s talents and future for the world.”
The advanced training programs will be held at BSNL’s Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training (BRBRAITT) in Jabalpur, which will serve as the hub for cutting-edge telecom education. With access to state-of-the-art labs and hands-on learning, around 2,000 students are expected to be trained annually, equipping them with skills to contribute to research, innovation, and global technology development.
“Seeds have been sown today for a brighter, technology-driven future,” the Minister added, encouraging participating companies to also submit proposals for team-building exercises, noting that
“Technical training is vertical; team building is horizontal. Team building exercise is also an important part of leadership.”
Calling it a proud moment, Scindia remarked, “This is a significant day for Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, and the entire country as our workforce receives training from these world-class companies. The youth of our country will not only participate in research and innovation but will lead in these fields.”
