CapitalXB Raises USD 15 Million to Scale SME Financing

Mumbai, India – CapitalXB, a trade finance company revolutionizing SME financing in India, today announced it has raised USD 15 million comprising both debt and equity financing in its seed round led by Nicolas Walewski, investing in his personal capacity as founder of London-based multi-billion AUM investment boutique Alken.

The capital will be deployed to expand CapitalXB’s lending capacity, enhance its technology infrastructure, and scale operations to empower small and mid-sized businesses across India’s manufacturing and trade sectors.

CapitalXB addresses India’s estimated $530 billion trade financing shortfall, with a mission to be the driving force behind SME growth and economic prosperity across the country.

“India’s SMEs are poised for unprecedented growth. This funding accelerates our mission to become the preferred financing partner for businesses driving India’s manufacturing and export economy—enabling economic multipliers across entire supply chains.” said, Taranjit S Jaswal, Managing Director & CEO, CapitalXB.

“Our specialized approach enables us to serve businesses that need faster, more responsive working capital solutions to scale their operations and compete in both domestic and global markets,” said Ajitabh Bharti, Executive Director & Co-Founder, CapitalXB. “We evaluate transaction strength and business fundamentals, allowing SMEs to access capital based on their commercial potential, not just traditional parameters.”

“CapitalXB is addressing a critical gap in India’s trade finance ecosystem with innovative solutions tailored for SMEs,” said Nicolas Walewski, Founder of Alken. “We’re thrilled to back a team that’s enabling businesses to grow and compete globally while driving economic prosperity.”

The company offers a range of trade finance products including invoice discounting, factoring, supply chain financing, and specialized loans for exporters. CapitalXB also facilitates transactions on TReDS, an RBI-regulated platform that enables MSMEs to access financing. These solutions serve diverse industries including chemicals, textiles, logistics, and consumer goods.
