Chance AI, founded by Dr. Xi Zeng, is rapidly scaling its visual reasoning platform, with India emerging as one of its most influential markets. Nearly one-third of the company’s users now come from India, placing the country at the center of its creator-led growth strategy. What began as a personal frustration for Zeng—standing before the Sagrada Família and finding only ticket links and ads instead of meaningful context—has evolved into a mission to build an AI system rooted in cultural understanding and curiosity. As he told AIM, “Our mission is to make AI that ensures curiosity, context and cultural understanding, not just convenience and productivity.”
The platform’s growth in India has been fueled by community-driven “visual agents” that address everyday needs such as fashion choices, skin analysis and menu translation. These agents are co-created with users, enabling the company to scale features organically and build a product that adapts to real-world behavior rather than top-down assumptions. According to Zeng, this approach gives Chance AI momentum that larger tech companies cannot easily replicate. He argues that giants like Google are limited by business models they “can’t escape from,” allowing smaller, more agile players to innovate faster.
With approximately 200,000 users already on the platform, Chance AI is preparing for an ambitious next phase. The company aims to reach one million users and is planning to raise up to 10 million dollars to support expansion. A significant portion of this investment will strengthen its creator programs in India, which Zeng describes as “not just a market, it’s a movement.” This reflects Chance AI’s belief that India’s digitally native population, diverse cultural landscape and growing creator economy make it ideal for shaping the future of visual reasoning AI.
Looking ahead, the company is exploring new hardware possibilities, including a wearable “third eye” concept designed to deliver real-time visual understanding. Chance AI also intends to license its visual reasoning stack to future AI-powered glasses, positioning itself early in a market that is expected to grow as AR hardware becomes mainstream. Additionally, the team is considering open-source initiatives to support accessibility features for visually impaired users, aligning with its broader goal of making AI more meaningful, inclusive and context-aware.
As Chance AI continues its expansion, its blend of cultural insight, creator collaboration and real-time visual intelligence represents a distinctly different path in the AI landscape—one shaped not by scale alone, but by purpose and perspective.
